Scottish rock four-piece ESTRELLA are back to make sure the new year is as successful as their last. June 8th sees the release of the title track from their upcoming 2nd album, ‘We Will Go On’, which will be the second single from the album due on June 22nd. Estrella add a refreshing new feel to the rock genre yet they still remind us of the acts we all love, such as Aerosmith, Def Leppard, Van Halen, AC/DC and Bon Jovi, and it’s little wonder why this searing, unapologetic slice of top quality rock was selected as the next release. ‘We Will Go On’ is already available for streaming. Check it out below (or click 'read more')
Some very talented veterans of the rock world have lent their hands to the making of Estrella’s new album with production overseen by Nick Brine (The Darkness, Brice Springsteen, Oasis), while previous single ‘Here I am’ was recorded at the infamous Rockfield Studios in Wales - the very studios in which Queen recorded ‘Bohemian Rhapsody’. John T Sinclair (Uriah Heep, The Cult, Ozzy Osbourne) co-wrote and co-produced the track. Professionals like these are highly sought after for their time, and very picky about who they work with, which speaks volumes about the talent on show in these four rockers from North of the border.
Stone Sour will release their covers EP Meanwhile in Burbank, on iTunes April 28. The record features a handful of songs that the band mastered over dates on their last North American tour. Recorded live at Room 237 in Burbank, California, the EP was initially made available on vinyl exclusively at select record stores on April 18.
The heavy rockers started working on the album February 2014. Guitarist Josh Rand stated, “Back in February of 2014 while Stone Sour was touring, Corey approached me about Stone Sour doing a cover of the Metal Church song "The Dark" for the movie Fear Clinic. I thought it would be cool not only to record "The Dark", but the five cover songs that we had played on that tour. The idea was not to shy away from a song because it was popular or pick a band that most people might not have heard, but to pick ones that truly meant something to one of us at some point in our life.”
Killers frontman Brandon Flowers just released the video for his new song "Lonely Town." The clip, released last Monday, features Penelope Mitchell (The Vampire Diaries) dancing around a house as she does chores. As the video ends, the camera zooms in on a window, where an unidentified person appears to have been watching the woman for the entire incident.
"Lonely Town" is the third track (following "Can't Deny My Love" and "Still Want You") off Flowers' upcoming second solo album, The Desired Effect, which is slated for release on May 19.
Dutch band SKULLSUIT just released their debut album MOMENTUM worldwide. It is available as of February 2nd 2015 via Into The Limelight Records.
MOMENTUM is SKULLSUIT’s first full length album containing 13 tracks written, composed and recorded in their backyard’s home studio over the course of 2012-2014. Mixing and mastering was done by Jack Nobelen at his Temple of Doom studio.
The album’s music can best be described as a mix between Groove Metal and Thrash Metal. Lyrical themes cover dark personal experiences, with heavy riffs and groovy drums to add a lot of pure power under the hood. Influences by bands from Pantera and Metallica to Black Sabbath and Down can be recognized in songs like Push Me Harder, Circles of Hell and For The One We've Lost.
Rock icons Whitesnake are set to return with their 12th studio album this spring. The Purple Album will be released in North America on May 19th via Frontiers Music SRL. The Purple Album is a re-imagination of classic songs from David Coverdale's time as the lead singer for Deep Purple's Mark 3 and Mark 4 studio albums. The album is currently available for pre-order in various configurations on Amazon: a standard edition, a deluxe edition featuring 2 bonus tracks, 4 music videos and a Behind The Scenes featurette on the recording of the album and in a double LP vinyl format. Plans are also underway for a special limited box set edition with memorabilia and merchandise. All details will be announced soon.
Its a tribute. A homage. Its a huge thank you from me to Deep Purple for the opportunity I was given over 40 years ago, states Coverdale. As I said to Ritchie, you guys set me on an incredible journey that continues today and I couldnt have asked for better teachers. The University of Deep Purple was an extraordinary, amazing school to learn from. We cant wait to play these songs in concert!

The band made the announcement at a press conference hosted by outgoing BBC Radio 1 presenter Zane Lowe at the Chinese restaurant The Golden Phoenix in London's West End. The album's producer, Stephen Street, also attended.
Of all the songs off of The Magic Whip, frontman Damon Albarn says that "Pyongyang" is a favorite. The song was written from lyrics he wrote while visiting North Korea.
