Dutch band SKULLSUIT just released their debut album MOMENTUM worldwide. It is available as of February 2nd 2015 via Into The Limelight Records.
MOMENTUM is SKULLSUIT’s first full length album containing 13 tracks written, composed and recorded in their backyard’s home studio over the course of 2012-2014. Mixing and mastering was done by Jack Nobelen at his Temple of Doom studio.
The album’s music can best be described as a mix between Groove Metal and Thrash Metal. Lyrical themes cover dark personal experiences, with heavy riffs and groovy drums to add a lot of pure power under the hood. Influences by bands from Pantera and Metallica to Black Sabbath and Down can be recognized in songs like Push Me Harder, Circles of Hell and For The One We've Lost.
With founding members Dennis Carroll (-ex Life O’Riley, Into The Deep) and Rob Meisters (-ex Life O’Riley) starting it off with just a couple of riffs, they went on searching for other members, soon to be found in Daniel Kaijer (-ex Life O’ Riley, Into The Deep), Roy Goossens (-ex K.I.U.Z, Doors Open) and Robbie Schepers (-ex Doors Open). After releasing their well received demo EP ‘Raw, Loud, Immoral but Evident’ they went on to write the rest of the songs while performing shows as much as possible.
Just after completing the recordings, Robbie Schepers, their original bassist who can be heard on the album, left the band to pursue other interests. The band found a replacement in conservatory savvy Roel Käller, who, with years of experience in many styles of music, has returned back to metal.
The songs of MOMENTUM can be heard daily on webradio www.radio2rock.nl as of February 9th 2015 and a live interview on The Lazy Rocker Radio Show (broadcasted on Dutch local radio station LOES FM) is taking place on March 8th 2015. More radio interviews and reviews are planned for the course of March – July 2015 for promotion and airplay.
